Gene E. LaBare (D) was first elected to office in 2006, and took his Oath of Office on January 1, 2007. He represents Broome County’s Fifteenth Legislative District, which includes parts of Endicott and Endwell.
Mr. LaBare is the Chairman of the Legislature’s County Administration Committee
as well as a member of the Finance Committee and the Health and Human Services Committee.
Gene was a member of the Union Endicott School Board for six years, serving as
president for two of those years. He was a member of the I.B.M. Employee Health Association Board for twenty years. He presently serves on the Action for Older Persons Board, and the Southern Tier East Regional Planning Board.
Gene is committed to bringing fresh ideas to Broome County Government. Gene’s goals are controlling taxes, eliminating the extra library tax in the Town of Union, and the development of the area’s brownfields.
Gene is a retired IBM corp. employee. He resides on Monforte Drive in Endicott with his wife Nancy.
