Logo Contest Information Sessions Held This Week
BINGHAMTON, NY - Broome County is still looking for high school students with artistic abilities to help commemorate the County's Bicentennial which will take place in 2006. The "design the logo" contest deadline is fast approaching and high school students are encouraged to submit their entries to the Broome County Historian at the Broome County Library.
The deadline is August 1st and contest information, rules and entry forms can be found at goBroomeCounty.com. The contest is open to all high school students, including incoming freshmen and graduating seniors.
If you are a high school student interested in the contest and looking for inspiration, you can attend one of two remaining Broome County Bicentennial Information Sessions being held at the Broome County Library this week. The first is Wednesday, July 13th @ 7pm. The final session is Saturday, July 16th @ 2pm. Contact County Historian Gerald Smith at 607.778.2076 or simply show up at one of the sessions.
The winner of the "design the logo" contest will be awarded a $500 savings bond and have their design used on all Bicentennial related materials. Winners will be announced in the fall.
