B.M.T.S. & B.C. Public Transportation to Sponsor "Public Transit Futures Forum" - Thursday, October 5th
BINGHAMTON, N.Y - Steve Gayle, Executive Director of the Binghamton Metropolitan Transportation Study & Ron Bailey, Commissioner of the Broome County Department of Public Transportation, announced this afternoon that they will host a "Public Transit Futures Forum" Thursday October 5th from 3:30 to 5:00 PM and 6:30 to 8:00 PM in the Community Room on the 1st Floor of the State Office Building located on Hawley Street in downtown Binghamton.
The two agencies are committed to involving citizens in their planning efforts and therefore see the forum as an opportunity to find out from the public what new or different services may be necessary. The Public Transit Futures Forum provides an opportunity for people to interact directly with transit system operators and transportation planners.
Among the issues to be discussed:
Broome County Executive Jeffrey P. Kraham said, "We've made significant new investments in Broome County's public transportation system. This forum gives our clients an opportunity to tell us how we're doing, and how we may better serve them."
Anyone unable to attend the meeting is invited to submit comments in writing to:
