Bike Rodeo on October 20, 2007

BINGHAMTON, NY - The Binghamton Metropolitan Transportation Study and the Broome County Traffic Safety Program invites all kids ages 5 and up to join us for a bike rodeo and skills clinic during the Broome County Farmer's Market.

The event will take place at Otsiningo Park in the parking lot near the volleyball courts, Saturday, October 20th, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Bicycle rodeos provide bicyclists with an opportunity to practice and develop their riding techniques that will help them become better bicyclists and avoid typical crashes. Bike rodeos give participants a chance to learn, practice and demonstrate their bicycle handling skills in a fun, noncompetitive atmosphere.

Children who would like to participate must bring their parent, a bicycle and an approved helmet. Free helmet fittings, bike inspections and bicycle safety education/guidance will be provided. The first 25 kids will receive a free bicycle helmet! Each entry will also receive a Certificate of Participation and a fun prize!

Registration for the rodeo is preferred but not necessary.
